Locals love windows to the world, but not doors...

What does homeland mean? Is it a place, a feeling or a smell? And where do you leave it, when you move away? - Do you keep it in a box, tidy and locked. Do you drag it around with you here and there. Do you pull out one ritual or another, hum a nursery rhyme or dance to a distant melody.
Three performers, all of them not from Berlin, open their "boxes of home" for an evening and speak of that which they have brought with them to Berlin, the city of the "homeless", the meeting place for a diversity of backgrounds. Stories about concealed and lost memories, departing and arriving, childhood and adulthood.
Britta Pudelko embarks on an outreaching / long-term project with this first performance Heimatkisten.Prolog about the theme of homeland and provenance. The performances are developed and built around the experiences and memories of the participants. Heimatkisten will travel to different European cities in 2007 to select different participants, who will bring their own cultural points of view. In late 2007, all of the participants will come together for a finale presentation of Heimatkisten.

Einheimische lieben Fenster zur Welt, Türen dagegen nicht so sehr...

Was ist Heimat? Ein Ort? Ein Gefühl? Ein Geruch? Wo lässt man sie, wenn man weggeht? - In einer Kiste, gut verschlossen. Man schleppt sie mit sich herum, holt hin und wieder das eine oder andere Ritual heraus, pfeift ein Kinderlied oder tanzt zu einer fernen Melodie.
Drei Performer, alle nicht aus Berlin, öffnen einen Abend lang ihre "Heimatkisten" und erzählen von dem, was sie nach Berlin, der Stadt der Heimatlosen, der Begegnungsstätte der unterschiedlichsten Heimatkulturen, mitgebracht haben. Es geht um Verborgenes und Verlorenes, um Weggehen und Ankommen, um Kindheit und Erwachsensein.
Britta Pudelko eröffnet mit "Heimatkisten. Prolog" ein längerfristiges Projekt zum Thema Heimat und Herkunft, das seinen Stoff vor allem aus dem bezieht, was die Mitwirkenden an Erlebtem und Erinnerten mitbringen. Deshalb soll "Heimatkisten" im Jahr 2007 auch auf eine internationale Reise gehen und die unterschiedlichsten Heimatpartikel zusammensammeln, um Ende 2007 in Berlin eine erneute Bestandsaufnahme zu präsentieren.
